Joleon Lescott believes City are approaching the UEFA Champions League final with a renewed level of confidence.

Pep Guardiola‘s men have reached the European showpiece for a second time in three seasons after facing Chelsea in the 2021 equivalent.

On that occasion we were edged out by a single goal in Porto, but two-time Premier League champion Lescott feels there’s a different edge to this current City side compared to two years ago.

Speaking at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium with fellow former City defender Nedum Onuoha and Matchday Live presenter FG, he said: “There are so many players that are playing well and probably in a place where they’ve never been before as a personal performance.

“You get to a stage in your career where you just know and feel almost invincible.

“It seems that they’re playing like that with that level of confidence but with the balance of it not being arrogance.

“It feels different to two years ago.”
