To celebrate 30 years of the Premier League, we continue our video series remembering 30 key City moments during that historic timeline.

We’ve already recalled Pep Guardiola’s 100th league win at the Club, Sergio Aguero’s five-goal haul against Newcastle United and our last game at Maine Road, amongst others.

Now we go back to a day that Joe Hart was at his brilliant best.

At the start of the 2010/11 season, Roberto Mancini had a decision to make. Would Hart or Shay Given be chosen as his number one goalkeeper?

It was Hart who got the nod and he wasted no time repaying the manager for his faith with this opening day performance at Tottenham Hotspur’s former home.

An attacking Spurs side threw everything at the Blues that day, but Hart put in a Man of the Match performance to keep Harry Redknapp’s side out.

Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Aaron Lennon, Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko all featured for Tottenham, but none of them could find a way past our young goalkeeper.

The hosts had 18 shots on target in the 90 minutes but Hart was equal to all of them and as the final whistle blew, the score remained 0-0.

For City fans, it was a sign of things that were to come in Hart’s long City stay.
