A behind-the-scenes look at another busy week for City, including claiming the FA Youth Cup at the Etihad, and dealing with a surprise gym visitor…

With just three Premier League matches left of the 2023/24 campaign heading into the week, Pep Guardiola’s men were hitting typically high levels out on the training pitch at the CFA.

However, before their session last Tuesday, they were greeted by players from our Under-8s team, stopping for high fives and, in Rodrigo’s case, a rendition of his song!

The focus was back on the pitch soon after though, including some impressive reflexes from Ederson, Stefan Ortega Moreno and Scott Carson, but keep your eye out for a particularly cheeky finish from goalkeeper coach, Richard Wright!

Our first match of the weekend was at the Etihad Stadium, as Ben Wilkinson’s youngsters faced Leeds in the FA Youth Cup final.

After a goalless first 45, Justin Oboavwoduo’s close-range finish handed City an early second half lead, with further strikes from Jaden Heskey, Stephen Mfuni and Matty Warhurst adding further gloss to an impressive performance.

Pep Guardiola’s men would claim victory against Fulham by the same 4-0 scoreline the following day, with a Josko Gvardiol brace, clinical Phil Foden strike and Julian Alvarez penalty earning City another important three points.

But another busy week at the CFA would conclude in a slightly unexpected fashion, when Sunday’s recovery gym session was disrupted by a pigeon!

With several players attempting to get the bird out (and plenty of others playing pigeon-themed songs on the gym speaker) John Stones eventually marshalled out our feathered foe.
