Enzo Maresca says he had no doubts Erling Haaland would get back on the scoring trail in the 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.

Haaland bagged a brace in the impressive triumph at Selhurst Park.

It meant he’s scored ten goals in his six games against the Eagles since arriving in the Premier League in 2022.

Not just that, only Andrew Cole (25 in 44 appearances) has scored more Premier League goals in the month of August than Haaland (24 goals in 16 appearances).

The talismanic striker didn’t find the net on the opening day against Bournemouth but Maresca believes it was only a matter of time before he resumed normal service.

“We need just to create chances for him,” said the boss.

“If we are good enough to create chances for him, we know he’s going to score goals like always he has done.

“He had a couple of chances against Bournemouth but unfortunately he missed.

“Tonight he scored twice and could have had one or two more.

“We are happy that he scored and that we won the game.”
