Over the next few weeks, CITC will be sharing their stories across its social media channels in a new series, ‘Studies to Staff’.
The final episode in the ‘Studies to Staff’ series heard from Joe who has recently graduated from the CITC community football coaching Degree programme, as part of the class of 2022.
Commenting in the video Joe said: “Whilst studying on the degree I was given the opportunity to gain experience as a paid employee as part of the BTEC team as an assistant coach.”
BTEC PROGRAMME
The BTEC programme provides an opportunity for students who are passionate about football and their education, to combine the two as part of the course.
The curriculum provides students with an insight into what life would be like coaching in an academy session, through the way in which CITC staff deliver sessions.
The team currently delivers in four sixth form and colleges, Oldham College, Cheadle College, Ashton Sixth Form and Connell College.
DEGREE PROGRAMME
The sport coaching degree programme is delivered in partnership with the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
The programme brings together CITC’s community football coaching knowledge with Manchester Metropolitan’s academic expertise, to offer the best of both worlds and an integrated path to rewarding career goals.
The BSc (Hons) and FdSc Manchester City Community Football Coaching programme is designed to give students a unique opportunity, by matching MMU’s academic expertise with the facilities, experience, and know-how of City in the Community.
