Throughout November, the Club’s Charity, City in the Community (CITC), is celebrating employability.

As part of the activities, CITC is highlighting stories from current staff members who were previously students on the Sport Coaching Degree.

Dane, Chiara, Grace and Alex, have all previously studied with CITC and, through their workplace learning, were able to progress into various job roles across the business.

Speaking in the video Dane said: “The experience was highly valuable. It allowed me to have the opportunity to gain a real-world experience regarding working in a professional environment and being able to be linked with the football club was an amazing opportunity.”

City in the Community offer employability pathways through programmes under their Healthy Futures pillar.

The Club’s charity delivers a BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching Degree in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

The programmes bring together CITC’s community football coaching knowledge with Manchester Metropolitan’s academic expertise, to offer the best of both worlds and an integrated path to rewarding career goals.

The degree combines classroom - and practical - based teaching at MMU’s newly launched Institute of Sport with work-based learning at the state-of-the-art Etihad Campus.

This mix is designed to help students develop a comprehensive skillset in coaching, sport development, performance analysis, strength, and conditioning and more.
