Aston Villa 2-1 City: Two-minute highlights

Match Report

City slip to first Premier League loss of the season at Villa

Enzo Maresca’s men slipped to a first league loss of the season, going down 2-1 at Villa Park.

A brace from Nicolas Jackson ultimately proved decisive and checked City’s fine run of form which had seen us win seven league games in a row.

The Senegalese striker had opened the scoring on six minutes and though Erling Haaland headed home a brilliant equaliser shortly after the restart, Jackson then struck again on the hour.

City laid virtual siege to the Villa goal with home keeper Zion Suzuki in inspired form.

But ultimately our pressure proved in vain as the Blues went down to what was a fourth straight league loss at Villa Park.
