Manchester City’s UEFA Youth League midfielder Paolo Fernandes believes City have what it takes to go all the way in Europe.

City guaranteed their place in the play-off stage of the UEFA Youth League with a 2-1 victory at Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday afternoon.

Goals from Brahim Diaz and Fernandes himself were enough to ensure City would finish the stage in second place in Group C behind Barcelona.

Fernandes has enjoyed an excellent start to the season after claiming the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October during City’s run to the top of the table.

Speaking on his excellent form he said: “I worked really hard through the summer break and I felt fit when I came back for pre-season. That has helped me a lot.”
