CJ Egan-Riley has called upon his City teammates to believe in themselves, ahead of Monday night's Premier League 2 trip to Leicester City.

Our Elite Development Squad visit the Foxes in a 19:00 (UK time) kick-off, looking to maintain our lead atop the Premier League 2 table - with the game set to be shown live on CITY+.

Having claimed a crucial 2-0 win over second-placed West Ham last time out, Brian Barry-Murphy‘s charges head into the clash full of confidence with a seven-point advantage over the Hammers.

As the youngsters prepare for ‘the business end’ of the campaign in the hunt for glory, defender Egan-Riley (who made his senior bow in the Carabao Cup this season), has urged his side to show what they are capable of.

“We can’t wait for the game,” he told mancity.com. “In the last few games, we’ve had really good performances and results and some clean sheets, which is always important for me.

“We can’t let it slip. We have to keep our foot on the pedal and keep pushing. We need to carry on the momentum and beat Leicester at their place.

“We have to believe in how good we are as a team. When we’re at our best, it’s hard to play against us. We’re a top team, training every day and sometimes it’s harder in training because we know we’ve got such good players, so then when it comes to the game, it’s easy.

“We need to believe in our ability and stick together - that’s the main thing.”
