A second half brace from Divin Mubama secured a deserved semi-final triumph for the City youngsters at the Joie Stadium.
And for Wilkinson it was what his players merited after what was another accomplished all-round display.
“I’m delighted and really proud of the boys and I think it’s no less than we deserved over the course of the season,” the Lead Coach said.
“We have consistently played at a really good level and given ourselves a chance to be in this position.
“We have had a tough few weeks playing Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United in the play-offs.
“I thought we went up a level from the last couple of games. I thought the performance was good tonight in terms of what we were asking from the boys.”
City’s reward is a place in the showpiece where we will face either Southampton or Crystal Palace.

And for Wilkinson it’s a prospect to savour - whoever our opponents will be.
“It’s really exciting to be in the final,” the Lead Coach added.
