We welcomed the Black Cats to the Etihad Stadium seeking to extend our 100% start to the top-flight season.
Enzo Maresca’s side have won four from four to begin the campaign, including the previous week’s 1-0 victory at Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Regis Le Bris’ side have four points from their first four games but come into the game after an opening week win in the Europa League.
City ran out 3-0 winners over Sunderland here last term, but that would mean nothing in this one.
