Manchester City moved through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

A brace from Brahim Diaz – his first senior goals – were enough to ensure victory.

City, the current holders, are looking to win the competition for the sixth time in the Club’s history.

It was a youthful City side, with Aro Muric, Phil Foden and Diaz all starting, and Claudio Gomes making a late appearance from the substitute’s bench.

But we had way too much for Fulham, who were pinned back in their own half for much of the contest.

Diaz’s first deflected off Aleksandar Mitrovic past Sergio Rico, and his second was a thumping drive onto the roof of the net after Gabriel Jesus’ effort came back off the post.
